My Favorite Things Thursdays

I t's Thursday my dear blog friends and that means it is time to share one of my favorite things!

My newest food love is Ezekiel 4:9 bread. I read about the bread in a "diet" book. I thought it would be like everyother healthy bread or cracker I've tried---dry and just plain gross. This bread is soooo good!

The description of this bread is as follows: 100% FLOURLESS • COMPLETE PROTEIN • WHOLE GRAIN BREAD GLYCEMIC INDEX: 36 Ezekiel 4:9® Sprouted Grain Bread is inspired by the Holy Scripture verse: "Take also unto thee Wheat, and Barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and Spelt, and put them in one vessel, and make bread of it..."Ez 4:9 We discovered when these six grains and legumes are sprouted and combined, an amazing thing happens. A complete protein is created that closely parallels the protein found in milk and eggs. In fact, the protein quality is so high, that it is 84.3% as efficient as the highest recognized source of protein, containing all 9 essential amino acids. There are 18 amino acids present in this unique bread - from all vegetable sources - naturally balanced in nature. Ezekiel 4:9® Bread is made from freshly sprouted organically grown grains, is naturally flavorful and bursting with nutrients. Rich in protein, vitamins, minerals and natural fiber with no added fat.

Because this bread is made from live grains, you have to leave it in your fridge so it doesn't sprout. You purchase it in the freezer section. I like how this bread tastes but even more than that, I love that it is really low in the glycemic index meaning that it won't affect your blood sugar and insulin levels. Amazingly I can eat one piece of Ezekiel toast with peanut butter for breakfast and I'm not hungry until 1pm. Usually I could never go past 11:30 without feeling famished.

I'm amazed that this bread is flourless and tastes good. I haven't tried any of the other Food For Life products but I'm anxious to. If you see this bread in your freezer section and are on the fence about it, try it, you'll be surprised too. I promise I don't own any stock in the company!

We are so on the same wavelength. Guess what my FTT is? Apple cider vinegar!

My friend Jana loves that bread. I make my own bread if I can, but one of these days I'm going to try Ezekial. Yum with that peanut butter :)

    1. It's about $3.50. Look in your freezer section--probably why you havent seen it. We don't have a Whole Foods or Sprouts so I was surprised it was in my regular grocery store!

  10. This caught my eye - My mom has always been pretty healthy, but had some flour/wheat issues for years. Ezekiel 3:9 bread was one of the only things that she could eat that didn't cause her reactions. It's really great stuff!!
