My Interview with Trixiegirl!

What I love most about blogging are the blog friends I've made. These little connections are unique in that I wouldn't know or recognize you in a store if you walked past me (well some of you I would if you post pics of yourself in your blog) but some of you I haved "talked" to enough that if I were in your area, I'd call you and we'd talk as though we'd known eachother forever!

Katie has become one of my sweet blog friends. As a fellow shop owner, her and I have bounced ideas off eachother. She has given me ideas and I hope I've helped her in some of her questions. Please show her some blog love and visit her blog and shop. Katie and I are blog swapping and interviewing eachother on our blogs today. So, here's Katie of Trixiegirl! Oh and instead of putting this at the end, I wanted to tell you that you can save 20% off in Katie's shop by entering the code Laborday through Friday, August 31.

1. Describe yourself in 5 words.

Creative, funny, multi-tasker (my friends will joke because it's hard to concentrate!), giving and loving.

2.Tell me about your business.

Trixiegirl is a handmade accessories business that is always changing and evolving. I carry anything from headbands and bobby pins, to earrings and wedding hair pieces. Adding my blog and knowledge from other indie business owners is helping Trixiegirl grow and change every day!

3. Name 5 things you need to get through the day.

Coffee, phone, iPad, music, good curls (I'm just now figuring out my hair. It's never too late. Lol)

4. What is your favorite product in your shop right now?

Right now my favorite product in my shop is button bobby pins. I love the response they are getting! They are a super cute accessory for a bang braid!

5. What do you find the most surprising about a handmade shop and blog?

It is a LOT of work. More than I ever imagined. But I am loving learning some awesome tips, tricks and ideas for Trixiegirl and my blog. Not everyone's tips will work for you, but there are amazingly talented people on the web willing to share advice.

6. Any advice for others looking to do this?

Learn as much as you can. Connect with others. Put yourself out there!

7. Where do you see yourself in 3 years?

Professionally, I hope to be able to help other shop owners like I have been helped--for people to want my opinions and help. I hope I'm running a well-oiled machine and am a better blogger. Personally, I just want to enjoy my family. I want health and happiness. Cliche right?

8. Do you have any guilty pleasures?

BRAVO, Anthro clearance rooms, Almond Joy creamer. I'll stop now.

9. Favorite TV show?

I am going to sound really deep here, but I love some reality tv. Choosing one is like having a favorite child!

10. How did you come up with the name Trixiegirl for your blog?

My cat growing up was named Trixie. When I was thinking about names for my business, I thought Trixie and girl had a good sound together! Trixiegirl it was!

I am so proud of Katie- and yes I'm her mom BUT she has achieved so much in such a short amount of time. Creativity is the name we should have given her!!! She is the most giving and YES the funniest person I know!!
