Sweet Knitted Rabbits

I have loved Little Cotton Rabbit's precious knitted rabbits for YEARS now. She will make a dozen at a time, a couple of times a year, and the moment they go on sale, they're gone. Imagine my surprise when she decided to start selling her rabbit pattern!

I made a boy and girl rabbit for my kids. It took me over two months to make them. I think they are sweet. My kids love them! These sweet rabbits aren't for heavy-duty play but rather look good on a shelf. Though made with much love, they are still rather delicate.

I named the boy Henry. I think he looks kind of Henry-ish. He has one ivory-colored ear. I love his sweet Robin's Egg's colored sweater.

I named the girl rabbit PJ. I love her stripes and polkadots.

And aren't these Mary Jane's just the sweetest? Love PJ!

Instagram Friday

It's Instagram Friday and I'm linking up with Jeannett at Life Rearranged.

My beautiful girl--so sweet.

We had Rotissere chicken for dinner one night. MiniB was hilarious when he came to the table and said, "Yes! I love when we have Meat Swords for dinner." He has the best one-liners.

We went the library this week and the kids sat on the bench with the sculpture and burned their little buns in the hot sun. You can tell they look uncomfortable!

I love watching these two together. They are so different looking but they're getting to be buddies. If dogs communicate, I wonder what these two are saying to eachother?

My New Fur Baby

W e have a new member of our family. This little girl is the gift that keeps on giving. I can't get enough of her! Just when I think she can't get any cuter.....she gets even cuter. We named her Pippa. We call her "Pip Squeak" because she is so tiny. She only weighs 5 lbs, full grown! The kids adore her. She loves to be held like a baby. She is so precious!

Final Finished Project

My final finished project for the week was one of my longest in coming. For the longest time (early 2007!), this Elephant has been standing in my studio waiting for a head. MiniMe endlessly asks me when I'm going to finish it. I must admit, the body by itself was cute enough for me. I don't like knitting stripes. This pattern was created by Susan Anderson. Click here to see her much cuter version.

I decided I would get this Ellie a head. Only problem was I couldn't find all of the colors because it had been so long. So this elephant has a different colored head. Oh well. I think he's just thankful to have a head period. I took so liberties and saved myself from trying to knit ears and just cut some felt ones for him. And rather than embroider eyes, I took the shortcut and glued some buttons on.

My conclusion after sticking to finishing a bunch of old projects is that I'm ready to move on to some brand new ones. And once I do, those ones will become my new unfinished projects. What can I say, my mind is always onto the next best thing!

Owly Goodness

Boy are owls in! I've always had a special place in my heart for owls so I'm happy they're popular right now. My mom had a cute owl nick-nack made of sea shells that every once in awhile she would let me hold. I even got to take it to show-and-tell. Oh and of course there was the owl that counted how many licks it took to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll pop. And my favorite owl, Woodsy, whose wise words, "Give a hoot, don't pollute" still apply today. My uncle worked for the Forest Service so I had a surplus of Woodsy supplies.

I'm posting a few of my favorite owl images that are out there. Just go to Etsy and type in "owl" and see all of the cute items that are available!
